Project Poker Table has begun

I am building a poker table, with help from neighbor Tony.

I am following the "Junell" directions, found here. I am not building cupholders into my table.

Wood was cut Sunday night. The picture below shows the two railing pieces after being attached together (you can also see the center piece in the background on the other side of the door).

The next picture shows the padded rail, from the back. We completed the outer ring stapling last night (inner ring comes tonight, the Thursday cash game is canceled this week).

I will document the building of the table in future posts, stay tuned!

Looks good. I just built a table last month from similar instructions. After using the table one time with 8 people, I am going to add second layer of plywood to make it more sturdy. When 2 or 3 people lean on one side of the table, it kind of bends down.

I might also added 2 or 3 2/4 cross boards for added support.

the "ansestri" comment was me. That was the word verification I typed in the wrong box.

Looks good.

You're building it inside the house and not the garage? The boss allowed this?

it's the basement. I'm not very handy, so the few tools I have are in the basement. Also, the garage in my house is laughably small, so I have to choose between a car and a tool bench.
