the LAG almost got me

LAGs can be tough to play. You've got to take it to the wall with top-pair type hands against their wide range, and that's just when they might have you buried. But sometimes you get lucky.

Feral Cow Poker
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em $0.05/$0.10 - 9 players

BB: $15.25
UTG: $16.07 (Hero)
UTG+1: $7.32
MP: $2.83
MP2: $10.41
HJ: $8.42
CO: $10.00
Button: $15.47
SB: $24.44

Preflop: ($0.15) Hero is UTG with (9 players)
Hero raises to $0.40, 5 folds, Button raises to $1.35, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.95
Button is a 29/26 with a 7% 3bet percentage. I'm running 16/13. He 3 bets me here, but I've got big slick suited and I'm not laying down that easily. Still, this is a conundrum. He's an aggressive 3 better, but I have raised under the gun, so he must have some idea that my range is pretty strong, yet still he 3 bets.

A 4bet shove would be fine here. I choose instead to call, and checkraise shove any pair, any flush draw, or any gutshot. (the old "gutshot shove").

Flop: ($2.85) (2 players)
Top pair, top kicker. Time to go ahead with my plan.

Hero checks, Button bets $2.85, Hero raises to $14.72, and is all in, Button calls $11.27, and is all in

Hero showed
Button showed

Mother-trucker. 3bets with K7o and then hits two pair. Looks like I'm in deep doo-doo as a 18-15 dog.

Turn: ($31.09) (2 players)

River: ($31.09) (2 players)

Hero showed , and won ($29.09) with two pair, Kings and Tens
Button showed , and lost with two pair, Kings and Tens
Hero won $29.09
(Rake: $2)

Running tens, that'll work. Got lucky here, for sure, but I think my plan was solid all around. I needed this hand, because it was near the end of the night, and I lost nearly a buy-in afterwards as someone 3 outed me on the river and I had to pay off with trips. A great day all in all, though- 1000 hands of 12.65 BB /100 day.
